The Boston Bruins have announced Patrice Bergeron as the 20th captain in franchise history. Not bad, ehh? This came to no surprise as Bergeron has been a leader of the team for as long as anyone can remember. Nobody has ever said a bad word about Bergy, he is the most positive guy. B's coach Bruce Cassidy had this to say "I can't say anything but positives about Patrice. I'm happy for him, to be named the 20th captain of the Boston Bruins." Line-mate and newly named assistant captain, Brad Marchand had this to say "I try to be like him everyday." Like Marchand, that is a common theme for youngster's in New England. Growing up, coaches always made the comments "Watch Bergeron" "study him, learn from him". It was true, if there was any guy a young player would want to be a clone of, it was Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron is entering his 17th season of his career, all with Boston. The 2nd round, 15th pick, has been nothing but impressive throughout his career and is a future Hall of Famer without doubt.

Congratulations Bergy, from everyone at Quick Shift.

REMINDER: Only seven more sleeps until the Bruins take on the New Jersey Devils in the season opener. Strap in for the ride.
