-Bruins @ New Jersey recap
The Bruins opened their season with two games in New Jersey, against the Devils. The Bruins can't really be upset with the outcome the mini series simple because they earned three out of four total points. The first game was played on January 14th, in which Rask started in net for Boston. Rask made 20 saves in his successful season opener. Goals were scored by forwards Brad Marchand and Nick Ritchie. Nick Ritchie has looked strong through the first two games, so I'm thinking he might of had time to final settle in and adjust to Boston.
The Bruins played Saturday at New Jersey as well. In this game we saw Jaroslav Halak make his season debut make 29 saves in an overtime loss. Craig Smith made his Bruins debut, playing 17:07 minutes and was a -1. Patrice Bergeron had the lone goal for the Bruins.
-What to expect against the Islanders
What we know this morning for today's 5pm puck drop against the Islanders. We know that Ondrej Kase is out of the line up with an upper-body injury. This means Jake DeBrusk will move up to the top line of Bergeron and Marchand. Jack Studnicka will enter the line up on Krejci's line with Ritchie in the opposite wing. Third line should look like Bjork-Coyle -Smith and the fourth line of Frederic-Kuraly-Wagner. Rask will be between the pipes to start the game.
